My website isn’t performing like I think it should…

You worked hard to build a website or at least paid someone to build it, and now it’s not meeting your expectations.

Your website can be a great tool to drive your business or it may be how you run your business. If you aren’t getting the results you expected there are some key indicators you can look at to find ways to improve your conversions.

Page Load Time

Page speed is a fast killer of your website conversions. 47% of customers expect a webpage to load in 2 seconds or less, according to skilled.co. For one extra second of load time, your conversions decrease by 7%. All that said, page load time is critical to your website performance. Work with your developers to find ways to cut that load time down.

Content Strategy

What does your content strategy look like for your site? Have you put critical thought into it? The traffic coming to your site has an agenda, they’re there to find the information/product and move on. Serving up the right videos or relevant products is critical when you only have 2.5 seconds to grab their attention. Focus your content on the type of traffic you are driving to your site.

Audience Targeting

Targeting the right audience in your ad strategy can also greatly affect your conversion rates. If your keywords and ads are focused on users searching for blenders but your ads are taking them to pages about socks, you will miss those sales. Now that’s an extreme example but the relevancy of the destination will always be critical to your conversion rate.
